Tips β€” Teams

Short team names, multiple memberships, team leads, cross-team scheduling, and regular reviews.

Tips & Tricks: Teams

Name teams by function, not by person β€” "Morning Shift" or "Kitchen" outlasts "Marc's Team." When the leader changes, the name still makes sense and you don't need to rename anything.

Set a max members limit to prevent overstaffing β€” If a team should never exceed 10 people, set the limit when you create it. The system will warn you before you add the 11th member, keeping headcount and budgets under control.

Promote a co-leader as backup β€” If the team leader is on holiday, a co-leader can manage the schedule and receive notifications. Without a co-leader, shift claim notifications go unanswered until the leader returns.

Link teams to locations early β€” A team that isn't linked to a location won't appear on any scheduling grid. If you create a team and wonder why it's missing from the schedule, check whether it's been linked to the right location.

Review membership when employees change departments β€” When someone moves from Kitchen to Service, remove them from the old team and add them to the new one. Stale team memberships clutter the shift picker and can lead to accidental assignments to the wrong group.
