Tips & Tricks: Anlagen
Define custom fields per asset type before you start β Each asset type (vehicle, laptop, tool) can have its own set of custom fields. Set these up before adding individual assets so every record has consistent, structured data from day one rather than patchy free-text notes.
Schedule maintenance before it becomes urgent β Assets support a next-maintenance date. Set it when you record an asset and Stunden will remind the responsible person ahead of time β stopping the "we forgot to service the van" conversation.
Use asset statistics to spot underutilisation β The statistics panel shows assignment history and utilisation periods for each asset. If a piece of equipment has been sitting idle for months, it's a data-driven nudge to reassign or retire it.
Unassign assets before offboarding an employee β Before deactivating a leaving employee, check their assigned assets and unassign each one. This prevents assets from disappearing into a limbo state where they're technically assigned to an inactive account.
Keep serial numbers in a consistent format β Whatever format you choose (e.g. all caps, no spaces), stick to it across all records. Consistent serial numbers make search reliable and avoid duplicates caused by formatting variations like "SN-12345" vs "SN12345".
